You're a senior buyer with four years' experience, applying for your first category manager role: Category Manager, Clinical Consumables, at Eastgate Health, a state health service.
The category is A$14m a year, and every item ends up in a patient's care. The interview is a structured panel: three people, the same questions for every candidate, each answer scored 1 to 5. Then a scenario question.
You'll prepare, answer three questions, handle the scenario question, and close. Three meters: Value (the value for patients and the organisation your answers show), Standing and Risk (the governance risk your answers signal; lower is better). You'll see the panel's pens move. You won't see the numbers until the end.
